Trek to Bilikal Rangaswamy Betta.

First thing – Posting after a long long time.

Second – Started doing what i love the most.

Third     – Getting back to wat I love in me some 2-3 years ago.

Thanks a lot for my very few, but my VERY GOOD BEST FRIENDS who can understand me and who always wishes good for me.

Here it is.

Bilikal Rangaswamy Betta is a really lovely, lonely place in kanakapura district, Karnataka. When i was searching for some good places around bangalore within some one or two hour journey, this place impressed me a lot because its very near and seems lovely to me when i read the reviews. I just went off the lab friday night earlier and slept well. In morning got up by 6.00Am and went to K.R Market. From there got a bus to Harohalli, which is on the way to kanakapura, Its some 2 hour journey because of traffic and because of the BUS. [Its good to go by own vehicle] I reached Harohali around 9.00Am.

Bought some food there. I have to head to Maralawadi which is some 10 Km from Harohali. There were not many bus services from harohalli to Maralawadi. But i got a local van. Its some 20 minutes journey. Then from maralawadi, we have to head to konnala doddi. Its a 7 Km distance and there is no bus or vehicle except auto. I decided to walk or hitch hike on the way. Latter i changed my mind to WALK, trashing the idea of hitch hiking. Spent from two hour towards konnala doddi walking. On the way you can see few villages. They were engaged in farming and many in sericulture [Silk worm Growing] they call the cocoon as reshmi. Shot some pictures in the poor camera of mobile i carried. It was around 11.00Am when i reached konnala doddi.

Uphill is not so tough. We have a very good path. Its really easy to climb. Just took some 1 hour 15 minuites to climb up without stoping. But there are many places to stop for a while and enjoy the nature along with rest for your body. At the top there is Rangaswamy temple. Im not intrested in the temple. So i just roamed around the places at the top. Really its windy. There are some good places at the backside of the temple. You can surely spend some hours laying down there in the cool breeze.

One more thing is there are some people living at the top. They say that they are engaged in agriculture for the October – March. It seems there is also one festivel held in this temple in the full moon day of January. Everyone had said that it will be a grand one.

Downhill trek is much more easier, but be careful about your steps. You may twist your ankle if you are new to hill climbing. Downhill is only 30 minutes long and  that too because i halted in the middle to take some snaps. Its worth climbing if you have the passion for deserted trek. Can climb for the breeze at the top. I enjoyed the trek. But not as much as previous places i have visited.
